Private strategic advisory

Think With Me.

Bring me the situation. We’ll figure out what you’re actually working with and what needs to happen next.

For the decision, idea, opportunity, collaboration, business issue, or situation that has enough moving pieces that a quick answer isn’t really an answer.

75 minutes · Pre-session intake + preparation · Think It Through Map

Before you move

Sometimes you don’t need another answer. You need to make sure you’re answering the right question.

Think It Through is for the moment when something matters enough that you do not want to make the next move on autopilot. We look at the situation itself, what you are trying to accomplish, what may be missing, what you are assuming, what different choices change, and what deserves your attention next.

Before you partner — define what the relationship actually needs to accomplish and what happens if it changes.
Before you launch — look beyond opening day to what success will require you to operate next.
Before you build — make sure you are building the thing that solves the problem you actually have.
Before you hire — determine whether the real issue is people, capacity, process, expertise, or something else.
Before you spend — decide whether money is really the constraint and what the investment is expected to change.
Before you call the professional — know what you need that professional to help you accomplish.
Before you say yes — understand what the opportunity creates after you accept it.
Before you solve the problem — make sure that is actually the problem.

This may be for you if…

You know this deserves more than a quick answer.

You’re too close to it.

You keep circling the same question, or you can see the pieces but not how they fit together.

The stakes are real.

The decision affects your time, money, capacity, reputation, business, team, opportunity, or relationships.

The obvious answer feels incomplete.

You suspect the stated problem may not be the real problem, or the path you are considering may change the outcome.

You think you need an expert.

You may need a lawyer, accountant, designer, consultant, marketer, developer, or someone else — but first you need clarity about what you need them to solve.

You have an idea with moving pieces.

You know what you want to create, but capacity, people, timing, money, ownership, expectations, or execution still need to be thought through.

You need another brain.

Not someone to make the decision for you. Someone experienced enough to ask better questions, challenge assumptions, and help you see what happens next.

How we work

We do not manufacture an answer just so you can leave with one.

Sometimes the next move is a decision. Sometimes it is a conversation, a number, research, a boundary, a professional referral, or realizing that you are not ready to decide yet.

What’s happening?

We separate the situation from the story around it and establish what we are actually looking at.

What do you want?

We clarify the outcome you are trying to create, not just the task sitting immediately in front of you.

What are we really deciding?

We identify the question underneath the question, including assumptions, missing information, constraints, and tradeoffs.

What happens next?

We determine what should happen before you move and identify the next meaningful action, conversation, decision, or professional help.

What you receive

75 minutes with me, plus a map you can use after we hang up.

Your Think It Through session includes a pre-session intake, my preparation before we meet, the private advisory session, and a concise written recap delivered within three business days.

The goal is not a giant report. The goal is to capture the thinking that matters so you can move without reconstructing the entire conversation from memory.

Your Think It Through Map may include:

  • The situation
  • What you’re really working with
  • Your desired outcome
  • What we know
  • What we’re assuming
  • What’s missing
  • Options and consequences
  • Before you move
  • Not yet
  • Your next moves
  • Who you may need next
  • What to keep your eye on

A useful outcome can sound like…

“You don’t need the contract yet. First, the two of you need to define what you are actually agreeing to.”

“You can launch this. The better question is whether you can operate what happens if it works.”

“You do not need to decide today. You need one missing piece of information first.”

Frequently asked questions

Yes, even if you “only have one quick question.”

But I only have one question.

That is completely fine. The issue is not the number of questions you have. It is whether answering that question well requires understanding the situation around it. If I need to understand your goals, constraints, assumptions, relationships, circumstances, or what happens next before I can responsibly tell you what I think, that is strategic advisory work.

Can’t I just ask you quickly?

If it is truly a quick factual question that does not require me to understand or analyze your particular situation, it may be. Once we need to unpack your circumstances, identify what you are actually deciding, examine options, or determine what your next move should be, we are doing the work. Think It Through gives us the space to do that properly.

Why would I pay someone just to talk something through?

You are not paying simply to have a conversation. You are paying for experienced outside judgment applied to a situation you are close to — including problem framing, identifying missing information, challenging assumptions, examining consequences and tradeoffs, and determining what deserves your time, money, or action next.

Why not go directly to the professional I think I need?

Sometimes you absolutely should. Think It Through is especially useful when you are not yet sure what professional you need, what you need that professional to accomplish, or whether you are ready for that professional at all. A professional can do excellent work and still give you the wrong result if you have not figured out what you are asking them to solve.

Will you tell me what to do?

I will give you my perspective. I will ask questions, point out things that deserve attention, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and help you look at options and implications. Sometimes I may have a strong view about a particular approach. You remain the decision-maker.

What if we discover I need something else?

Excellent. That can be a successful outcome. You may leave knowing that you need an attorney, accountant, designer, consultant, researcher, contractor, conversation, additional information, or something else entirely. You may also discover that you do not need the service you originally thought you did.

Is this coaching?

No. Think It Through is strategic advisory and thought partnership. I am not limited to asking questions and waiting for you to discover every answer yourself. I bring my own judgment, perspective, pattern recognition, problem-framing ability, and professional experience into the room.

Is this legal advice?

No. Think It Through is separate from my legal practice and does not create an attorney-client relationship or a legal-services engagement. We may identify legal considerations or determine that legal advice would be useful. Legal services require a separate engagement with appropriate counsel.

Is there a pre-consultation first?

No. Your Think It Through session is the first conversation. Your pre-session intake gives me the background I need to prepare, and our 75-minute session is where we do the substantive work together.

What if I need to move my appointment?

Your payment is nonrefundable, but one timely reschedule is included when you give at least 48 hours’ notice. Additional timing requirements, no-show rules, the 72-hour intake deadline, and other booking details are in the Think It Through Booking Terms.

Before you…

Before you sign, launch, partner, build, hire, spend, walk away, or solve the problem — make sure you know what you’re actually working with.

If you are sitting in a “before I do this…” moment and need another experienced brain on the situation, your Think It Through strategic advisory session is the doorway for exactly that work. No pre-consultation is required.
